The latest glowing star to adorn a bold, red-lip look in the K-drama world is Park Yeon-jin (played by Lim Ji-yeon) in the Netflix original series, The Glory.
For the uninitiated, The Glory was penned by hit writer Kim Eun Sook and illustrates the story of a former victim of horrifying school violence who goes on a revenge plan to get even. The stunning Song Hye-kyo stars as the vengeful protagonist Moon Dong-eun while Lim Ji-yeon plays the main school bully Park Yeon-jin.
From multiple interviews, it’s clear that Ji-yeon is a hardworking actress who knows what she’s doing and is born with talent too. Directors and crew she’s worked with only have praises for her as a person and professional.
Her role in her first feature film Obsessed in 2014 earned her a Grand Bell Award and a Baeksang Arts Award nomination, among other accolades. She’s even appeared in Netflix’s Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area as Seoul, an anti-hero character.
Lim Ji-yeon’s red lips
You could say that Ji-yeon has some sort of affinity with playing darker roles, although Park Yeon-jin is her first villain role in the 12 years of her acting career.
Her recent femme fatale pictorial with Vogue Korea’s February 2023 issue certainly exudes a villainous, charismatic, and devil-may-care attitude.
All decked out in red and black, Ji-yeon poses with red roses, a pair of scissors, and a bold and gorgeous red lip — quite the perfect representation of a blood-soaked revenge drama.
