She also emphasised her commitment to the “less oil, less salt” principle, limiting her daily intake to just 20 grams of oil and five  grams of salt. She also keeps her carb intake below 100 grams per day by opting for brown rice, whole grains, and buckwheat noodles.

Jia Ling’s remarkable transformation from a plus-size 105kg figure to a svelte 55kg was accomplished through the popular 16/8 intermittent fasting plan! This involves consuming all daily meals within an 8-hour window and abstaining from food for the remaining 16 hours.

Here’s how she did it:

8-hour Eating Window: Consume a variety of foods within an 8-hour window, focusing on high-quality proteins, vegetables, and carbohydrates while strictly controlling calorie intake and avoiding foods that are high in sugar, fat and salt.

16-hour Fasting Period: During the remaining 16 hours, refrain from consuming any calorie-containing foods, including beverages. However, you can drink water, unsweetened tea, or black coffee to alleviate hunger.

Adaptation Period: It’s a good idea to begin with longer eating windows, like 12 hours or 10 hours, before slowly moving towards the desired eight-hour eating period. This gradual approach helps your body adapt to intermittent fasting and can help reduce any potential discomfort or hunger pangs during the fasting period.

Intermittent Frequency: Practice 16/8 intermittent fasting three days a week or continuously for two to three weeks, then assess whether to continue based on your body’s adaptation.

Recommended Eating Pattern: It’s ideal to have small, frequent meals, divided into three to four meals per day. For example, you can have two main meals and one or two small snacks, to support stable energy levels and controlled portion sizes.

Jia Ling’s Slimming Method 3: Chew Slowly and Thoroughly

She also stressed the significance of eating slower. Extending your mealtime by at least 20 minutes allows the brain to receive signals of fullness and perceive stomach distension, effectively reducing appetite.

Previously, Jia Ling indulged in high-calorie foods and alcohol to cope with her stress. However, since adopting healthier habits, she now no longer needs to rely on those as her coping mechanisms for stress.
