The perfectly tousled hair, “no makeup” base paired with a bold red lip, and sharp yet casual tailoring create an undone elegance that exudes a certain… je ne sais quoi. It’s evident that French women have it all figured out.
If you don’t feel you’ve nailed their air of effortlessness just yet, well, a French girl fragrance could be the thing that’s missing.
The “French girl” perfume that went viral on TikTok
Those who are already on #PerfumeTok would’ve seen a number of viral videos that rave about the Narciso Rodriguez Musc Noir Rose Eau de Parfum.
One particular video with 15.6 million views and 2.8 million likes stands out. User @ohuprettythings stops a Parisian woman on the street to ask her what perfume she’s wearing, and the wearer pulls out a full-sized, half-empty bottle of Musc Noir Rose – that’s commitment right there, everyone.
A commenter wrote, “Nah I was so mad when my bottle finished. It’s my signature scent,” while another said, “Just got this — lives up to the hype.”
“You guys, I immediately bought it and it’s my favourite scent right now. It is so beautiful and romantic,” says TikToker @yelenaa.x, who stitched her response to the viral TikTok video.
Another commenter divulged that her “husband went feral” after smelling it on her, while others said they became obsessed instantly.
So what does it smell like?
The scent opens with notes of fruity Italian bergamot oil and allows tuberose, the star of the show, to come into full bloom. Luscious plum and vanilla give the fragrance a tinge of sweetness and creaminess that makes the scent so intoxicating.
Of course, as with most Narciso Rodriguez fragrances, this one has a heart of musc that creates a sense of intimacy. Reviewers say it’s a sweet scent that isn’t too cloying, so it’s still very wearable in all kinds of weather and for all occasions.
Narciso Rodriguez Musc Noir Rose Eau de Parfum retails for RM295 (30ml), RM440 (50ml), and RM580 (100ml) at Sephora.
