Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh has made all Malaysians proud as she made history yesterday. She is the first Asian to win a best actress award at the Academy Awards (also known as the “Oscars” to most). She clinched this award for her excellent performance in sci-fi comedy film Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Her trophy wasn’t the only thing that glowed at the awards ceremony; her complexion too!
As we celebrate her achievement, the Daily Vanity team also can’t help but want to know what contributed to her gorgeous appearance at the Oscars. If you’re curious what skincare and makeup products Michelle Yeoh used on the awards night, read on for everything you want to know!
(By the way, we’ve also compiled Michelle Yeoh’s beauty secrets, if you want to learn them too!)
Michelle Yeoh’s skincare at the Oscars
Great makeup can only be made possible with a hydrated canvas. In case you’re wondering, La Mer is Michelle Yeoh’s go-to brand when it comes to anything skincare.
In fact, the 60-year-old actress revealed that La Mer products are what she use when she get ready for red carpets events or taking an international flight because of the way they make her skin feel hydrated and fresh.
To get her ready for the Oscars, Yeoh’s makeup artist Sabrina Bedrani said she used La Mer products for a soft and effortlessly hydrated canvas for her evening’s beauty look.
“The key to achieving flawless skin on the red carpet always starts with hydration. For Michelle’s look tonight, we wanted a soft, ethereal feeling and opted for La Mer to prep her skin. We began with La Mer’s Treatment Lotion (RM720) and followed with The Concentrate (RM2,675) and The new Moisturizing Soft Cream (RM1,690) to create a super hydrated canvas for her look,” said Bedrani.
While Bedrani didn’t share anything about it, our sharp-eyed team also spotted La Mer-branded facial ice globes from the photo of Bedrani’s stash. Based on what we know, these aren’t sold publicly.
In case you don’t know, ice globes are round glass tools filled with liquid that are chilled in the fridge and used while they’re still cold. By massaging them over the face, they help to reduce redness, puffiness, minimise the appearance of pores, and even lighten the look of dark eye circles.

“For Michelle’s Oscars look, we wanted a soft, ethereal glow with a defined but not too dark eye and gorgeous nude-pink lip,” Bedrani shared.
Bedrani used Dior Beauty products on Yeoh for her makeup.
To create a flawless canvas, she used the new Dior Forever Skin Correct (RM205) in #2.5N and Dior Forever Foundation (RM270) in #2.5W.
The latter is a no-transfer foundation that has a floral skincare base, which is perfect for providing long-lasting comfort for Yeoh throughout the awards night.
Bedrani also used Dior Forever Couture Luminizer (RM245) in #05 Rosewood Glow as a glow-enhancing highlighter. This exact shade is not available in Malaysia, but there are four other shades stores here carry, if you’re interested in the product.
On her eyes, Bedrani created a soft look using the Diorshow 24H Stylo (RM115) in #091 Matte Black and Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette (RM295) in #669 Soft Cashmere.
The former is a waterproof eyeliner with a creamy texture while the latter is a five-pan eyeshadow in nude shades that are glamorous but wearable.
Yeoh’s brows were enhanced with the Diorshow Kabuki Brow Styler (RM135) in #05 Black and set in place with the Diorshow On Set Brow Gel in #00 Universal.
Her lips were lined with the Dior Contour Liner Pencil in #525 Cherie and a mix of two lipsticks: Rouge Dior Lipstick (RM170) in #625 Mitzah Matte and Dior Addict Lipstick (RM170) in #526 Mallow Rose. The lip liner and the exact shade of the first lipstick are not available in Malaysia.
