If you’re into the 10-step Korean skincare routine, you might already know that “glass skin” is the gold standard look everyone has been trying to achieve.

But glass skin is a trend we said goodbye to at the end of 2021, and now it looks like it may be overtaken by a new trend called “glazed donut skin”.

This deliciously named trend was started by American model and socialite Hailey Bieber who first used the term in a Youtube video back in April 2021:

“My standard when I go to bed at night is that if I’m not getting into bed looking like a glazed donut, then I’m not doing the right thing.” – Hailey Beiber.

She has since called 2022 the year of glazed donut skin, and it has blown up into one of the year’s hottest skincare trends.

But what is glazed donut skin?

Glazed donut skin involves moisturising the skin before sleep so that when you wake up, your face is naturally glowing, similar to the texture of a glazed donut, but with none of the grease.

Hydration and protection of your skin’s barrier is the key here, to leave your skin soft, nourished, and glowing.

If you’re interested in getting this glistening skin texture, you’re in luck as you don’t need a meticulous 10-step skincare routine – only four.

Here’s Hailey Bieber’s “glazed donut” skincare routine

“Find yourself a moisturiser that helps you look like a glazed donut at the end of the day.” – Hailey Bieber.

Hailey Beiber’s glazed donut skincare routine is quite easy. Start with double cleansing, followed by a serum on damp skin, before finishing with a hydrating moisturiser.

Optional: apply a face oil for extra glaze, spot treatment for acne days, and an eye cream for anti-ageing purposes.

To achieve beautifully glazed skin, you can look for skincare products packed with antioxidants like squalane, which can promote collagen production and make your skin glow from within.

Hydrating ingredients can also help, so be on the lookout for stuff like glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, ceramides, and hyaluronic acid.

So, what are your thoughts on glazed donut skin? Are you going to make your skin look as delicious as a Krispy Kreme?
