Looks like it has come to the end of the road for The Ordinary’s concealers and foundations.

We totally didn’t see it coming considering that there was so much hype around The Ordinary foundations. At its peak, it used to be a long waitlist for it – at 25,000 people!

Even The Ordinary’s concealers, which were launched later, received a lot of good reviews too.

But all good things have to come to an end. The Ordinary announced two days ago that they will discontinuing the Colours series, which includes the brand’s foundations and concealers.

The Ordinary’s Colours collection has been well-loved by fans who enjoyed its huge range of colours, comfortable formula, and budget-friendly price tags.

Despite the ripples the products have made in the beauty community, it looks like it wasn’t enough.

The Ordinary said this in their official statement, “Despite many people loving the formulas, we didn’t manage to reach enough of you with our Colours range and the products have not been profitable since their launch.”

The brand said that these are their plans to discontinue the products.

  • Concealers will be discontinued by 30 January 2023
  • Serum Foundation and Coverage Foundation will be discontinued by June 2023
  • Both foundations and concealers are no longer available in stores currently and only available in online stores while stocks last.

While fans are disappointed at the products’ departure, they appreciate the transparency that The Ordinary has displayed.

If you’re hoping to still get your hands on their foundations or concealers, here are the websites that still stock them:

However, if you’re looking for alternatives once you eventually run out, here are our recommendations

Alternative products to The Ordinary foundation and concealer

innisfree My Foundation 2.5

Many consider this product a dupe to The Ordinary foundations.

This has a customisable feature that allows you to not just choose a colour that matches you but also the kind of coverage and finish you prefer.

innisfree My Foundation 2.5 retails for RM97, available at innisfree.

FENTY BEAUTY Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint Foundation

For a product that’s just as comfortable as The Ordinary’s foundation, consider this one from Fenty Beauty. While its price isn’t as friendly, it offers a great formula that blurs out the appearance of blemishes and pores effortlessly.

FENTY BEAUTY Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint Foundation retails for RM170, available at Sephora.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

Both The Ordinary Colours Concealer and the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer have formulas that are able to reduce the appearance of fine lines while smoothening everything out.

This alternative also has a long-lasting formula that will comfortably stay on your skin throughout the day.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer retails for RM44.90, available at Watsons.
