With a new year means we are blessed with brand new collections, such as the special Chinese New Year collections that have been coming out.
But those aren’t the only new releases that have been arriving on our shores. Beauty brands have been keeping themselves busy with release after release, and we’ve got the scoop on the must-haves.
As always, we’ve compiled a list of the latest releases and categorised them by type so you’ll have an easier time finding what you might need to expand your beauty collection.
Skincare
SK-II SKINPOWER Line
SK-II launches another anti-aging skincare line with their new SKINPOWER products which consists of a lotion, cream, essence, and eye cream.
Featuring their new breakthrough InfinitPower Technology, it supercharges the skin from within for a youthful complexion that is instantly energised. The line contains an exclusive cocktail of three power ingredients that work at multiple skin layers:
- Calla Lily Extract which is formulated to hydrate and plump skin, improving elasticity.
- Dokudami Extract which is a Japanese herb with healing properties picked exclusively from a farm in Tokushima, Japan, and makes the skin look energized.
- Peony Extract which is known for its beauty properties and formulated to achieve bouncy elasticity from within.

Ole Henriksen Strength Trainer Peptide Boost Moisturiser
This is the first moisturiser in the new STRENGTH collection that is specially formulated to strengthen the skin’s barrier, firm, and hydrate all day long.
Like a personal trainer for your skin, this is a universal daily moisturiser suitable for all skin types. It has been clinically tested to double hydration and boost elasticity as well as improve the look of wrinkles and strengthen the moisture barrier all day.
It retails for RM213 on Sephora.
Kiehl’s Retinol Skin-Renewing Daily Micro-Dose Serum
Kiehl’s has joined the retinol market with its new Micro-Dose Serum, which is suitable for all skin types, including first-time retinol users and those with sensitive skin.
Formulated for visible results with minimal discomfort, this serum uses peptide and ceramides to promote skin tolerance of pure retinol, so that it is also suitable for use during the day or night.
It retails for RM245 for 30ml and RM355 for 50ml at Kiehl’s boutiques and itsofficial website.
Makeup
Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Liners & Lipsticks
Anastasia Beverly Hills has certainly been busy this month as they have launched a huge line of lip liners and matte and satin lipsticks. So if you’ve been holding back on expanding your lippie collection, you should splurge on these gorgeous shades.
There are 18 universally flattering lipstick shades ranging from nude to dark, all housed in a beautiful rose-gold casing. We can’t help but fall in love with shade Royal Red, which looks like a classic festive red perfect to ring in the upcoming Chinese New Year with.
There are also 18 different shades available for the lip liners, so you can mix and match to your delight. Why not pair a lighter lip liner like Sun Baked with a darker lippie like Sugar Plum for a deep, gradient lip?
The Matte & Satin Lipsticks retail for RM105 and the Lip Liners for RM90 and will be available on 25 January onwards at Sephora online and 10 February onwards in-stores.
Innisfree My Foundation All Day-Longwear SPF25 PA++
Innisfree fans will be happy to hear they’ve got an all-day-wear foundation to choose from. This semi-matte foundation lasts all day with smooth texture and clear finish and will stay luminous for a long time without oxidising.
With 11 different shades to choose from, you’re bound to find the perfect shade for you. A sebum-fixing powder is included in the formula, which means it will absorb excess oil and adhere the the skin flawlessly for a crease-free application.

Laneige NEO Foundation
Following the success of their best-selling NEO Cushion, Laneige has released the NEO Foundation. It provides 48 hours of long-lasting coverage as well as a natural glow cover and double protection against urban particulate matter such as fine dust.
The pastel green version offers a matte finish; if this is not suitable for you, go for the pastel pink one that gives you a dewy finish.
It retails for RM170 on Laneige’s counters, official online store, Shopee Mall, LazMall, Zalora, and Hermo.
Gucci Sérum De Beauté Fluide Matifiant
If you’ve been looking for a mattifying primer, you’ll be glad to know that Gucci has released their own version which controls shine all day long while blurring the look of pores and improving makeup wear.
Available in one universal clear shade, this primer melts quickly onto the skin with its soft and cool gel texture. It is formulated with Moambe Jaune Tree extract, Salicylic Acid, Bamboo powders, Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin, and Rose Centifolia distillate.
It is retails for RM245 and is available at Gucci Beauty KLCC, Gucci Beauty Boutique MidValley, Gucci Beauty Sogo Southkey, and Sephora stores.
YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Candy Glaze
Infused with Vitamin E, Hyaluronic Acid, and Mango Oils, you can have both the shine of a gloss with the nourishing care of a balm at the same time.
With more than eleven beautiful shades to choose from including red and coral orange colours, we had a hard time picking our favourite out of the bunch. In the end, we have to go with the classic pale pink lippie, #2 Healthy Glow Plumper, which would flatter any skin tone.

Chanel Spring-Summer 2022 Collection
The collection – La Pausa De Chanel – is inspired by the villa that once belonged to Gabrielle Chanel located high on the ridge of Roquebrune. The natural, earthy colours and sparkling sunlight of the villa are front and centre in this gorgeous makeup collection.
We’re especially in love with their new blush, Blush Lumiere, which comes in two shades Peche Rosee (top) and Brun Roussi (bottom). These soft powders are shimmery, buildable, and embossed with a gorgeous pattern that mimics rays of light.
The Rouge Coco Baume also caught our eye, as they are a hydrating tinted lip balm which uses a dual “Colour and Care” function that allows for custom coverage. You can get a sheer wash of colour after one coat to lipstick-like intensity after three coats.
Try going for the shade 922 Passion Pink for a youthful, pink shade which is suitable for both day and night.
Other than the blushes, the collection also includes:

Chanel N°1 Line
Chanel is checking Clean Beauty off its list with this new line which features nine sustainable products including skincare, makeup, and fragrance. The key ingredient here is red camellias, which contain protocatechuic acid, an anti-ageing antioxidant that also reduces dryness and dullness.
The packaging of these products may contain recycled materials, but there’s still that luxurious Chanel feel to them. The whole line includes:

Patrick Ta
The brand Patrick Ta has made its way over to Sephora. Founded by the famous celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta himself, the brand is known for its fairly priced and efficient beauty products. The brand currently offers brushes, blushes, shaping waxes, eye liners, and many more items.
Of everything, we have to recommend the Crème Contour & Powder Bronzer Duo, which allows you to shape and sculpt your face with ease. The powder comes in two different shades, a lighter one called “She’s Statuesque” (left) and a tanner one called “She’s Chiseled” (right).
