We’re always looking for ways to curb our carbon footprint so we can do more for the environment, and it looks like we’re not alone in this endeavour as L’OCCITANE Malaysia has opened its first green store.

Located at Lot 3.76.00 on Level 3 of Pavilion Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur, this store is part of their ongoing commitment for sustainability and reducing waste. From the refill fountain to their mural wall, the store is designed with sustainability in mind.

Their refill fountain is a new feature that allows customers to refill these selected products:

  • Almond Shower Oil
  • Verbena Shower Gel
  • Shea Verbena Liquid Soap
  • Intensive Repair Shampoo
  • Intensive Repair Conditioner

You can either use a L’OCCITANE bottle of the same product (subject to inspection of suitability by their Beauty Advisors), or the brand’s new ‘Forever Bottles’, which are made from long lasting, lightweight, recyclable, and 100% recycled aluminium.

The Forever Bottles are priced at RM30 for 250ml and RM37 for 500ml and are currently only sold at the green store. However, they might be available at other branches in the future, so keep a look out!

If you can’t stop by the Pavilion Bukit Jalil store anytime soon, consider going for their eco-refills instead, which offer more than the five selected products listed above.

We’re also really excited about the Instagrammable mural wall at the back of the shop.

This art piece was hand drawn by local mural and sneaker artist Edna Lee. Featuring a small cottage in Provence, this mural was created using environmentally friendly paints.

Above the mural are beautiful hanging flowers, which you might be surprised to find out that are actually made from 500 empty beauty products!

The 500 empties were contributed from the 1.3 million empties contributed by Malaysian customers through L’OCCITANE’s Big Little Things recycling programme.

Since 2019, the programme has been taking in full-sized beauty, skincare, and haircare empties of any brand in exchange for some of the brand’s own products. Just wash and clean your empties and bring them to any participating L’OCCITANE stores.

We’re pretty tempted to book a flight straight to Kuala Lumpur just so we can check out this green store for ourselves.

But before that, it’s time for us to gather our empties so we can get a hold of some L’OCCITANE goodies!
