Pollution continues to be a growing concern around the world, and we’re always on the lookout for ways to minimise our carbon footprint.

Well, conscious consumers can now rejoice as another beauty brand has gone the eco-friendly route with the new Herbal Essences x Watsons Malaysia Forests for Good initiative.

Inspired by the Greening Malaysia Programme, a 100 Million Trees Planting Campaign, the Forests for Good initiative allows you to adopt newly planted trees in Malaysia by purchasing Herbal Essence’s bio:renew range from any Watsons store.

This initiative is part of Procter & Gamble’s efforts across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa to actively protect nature by planting trees that help improve local biodiversity ecosystems.

Adopting a tree through the Forests for Good Campaign

Adopt-a-tree Eco Matcher

What’s cool is that they have partnered with social enterprise and technology provider EcoMatcher to provide full transparency on the tree-planting projects through blockchain technology.

You can therefore track and measure your estimated environmental impact all through their online portal. Besides that, you can name your tree, see where it’s located, what kind of tree it is, and even who is caring for it!

To be a part of this meaningful campaign, follow these steps:

Step 1: Purchase three bottles of Herbal Essences bio:renew from any Watsons retail or online store.

Step 2: Receive an SMS from Watsons containing a unique code and link to the Watsons’ Forests for Good page.

Step 3: Link to P&G Forests for Good campaign page and create an account to adopt your tree and name it.

Step 4: Collect more trees by purchasing more Herbal Essences products and track your environmental impact.
