Step 1: Prepping Her Skin

Before applying any makeup, Ji-yeon ensures her skin is properly prepped. She starts with the Molvany Artichoke Soothing Acne Pore Toner Pad (RM140.10), which helps lower her skin temperature and tighten pores.
Ji-yeon swears by this product, mentioning that she has already gone through two boxes. In the evening, she likes to use it as a facial mask after washing her face, while in the morning, she applies it before makeup to help cool down her skin.
She also points out a thoughtful design feature — each pad has a perforated cut, allowing it to be torn in half so she can use the extra pieces to cover areas like her forehead and chin.
Ji-yeon leaves the toner pads on for five minutes, and while waiting, she uses a gua sha to massage around her lymph nodes.
Ji-yeon’s Brow Grooming

Before she continues with her skincare, Ji-yeon makes sure her brows are always well-groomed as part of her daily makeup routine. Before applying any makeup, she uses a brow razor to trim and shape them, keeping them nice and neat.
She didn’t mention a specific razor brand, but if you’re looking for one, the Innisfree Eyebrow Razor (RM15) is a great option to consider.
Step 2: Skincare

Once her skin is refreshed, she follows up with the Angel’s Liquid 7 Day Whitening Program Glutathione 700 V-Ampoule (RM221) and Angel’s Liquid Glutathione + Whitening Niacinamide Essence.
These products work to brighten her complexion by preventing melanin production, ensuring her skin remains even toned and luminous.
Step 3: Sun Protection

Ji-yeon claims she has used many sunscreen brands over the years; however, the Feld Apotheke Airy Water Sunscreen Professional (RM165) has become her endgame sunscreen. She loves how it doesn’t feel sticky, absorbs effortlessly into her skin, helps makeup adhere smoothly, and is easy to cleanse off.
When applying sunscreen, Ji-yeon shares a useful tip: gently roll it along your skin texture for even application, then lightly tap it in to help your skin absorb it better.
She admits she didn’t realise how crucial sunscreen was at first, but now she understands that it not only prevents tanning but also slows down skin ageing — making it an absolute must in any routine now.
Step 4: Base

Next, Ji-yeon moves on to her base makeup using the VINNE Essence Radiance Cushion (#23 Natural Beige, RM250).
For years, Ji-yeon searched for the perfect cushion before settling for this one. She first discovered this cushion through her makeup artist, who used it on her and left her amazed by how flawlessly it applied. The tone was stunning and despite having combination skin, the cushion blended beautifully while providing great coverage.
Beyond its glow, what makes this cushion a game-changer is that it doesn’t emphasise pores. Instead, it acts like a pore eraser, filling them in for a seamless, flawless finish. If you’re on the hunt for the perfect cushion, Ji-yeon highly recommends giving this one a try!
Step 5: Flawless Coverage

Ji-yeon reaches for the CLIO Kill Cover Airy Fit Concealer (RM64.96) to cover up small blemishes that distract her. She applies it with precision, focusing on areas that need extra coverage, including a particular spot she wants to conceal. With a few gentle taps, the concealer blends seamlessly into her skin.
And just like that, her complexion looks flawless and even, with a smooth and natural finish.
Step 6: Powder

According to her YouTube video, Ji-yeon uses the AMUSE Ceramic Skin Sebum Powder (01 CLEAR, RM92.80) to blur pores and smooth out any uneven texture. She shared that this is one of her favorite products because it sets makeup without feeling heavy on the skin.
While she enjoys a natural glow, she leaves certain areas untouched to maintain a subtle highlight and only mattifies spots where excess shine appears. This way, she achieves the perfect balance between dewy and shine-free.
Step 7: Eyelash Curler

For curling her lashes, Ji-yeon reaches for the Shiseido Eyelash Curler (RM56.69), a tool she swears by for its perfect fit on Asian eyes. Unlike other curlers that often pinch her lids or pull out lashes, this one has a gentle slope that makes the process much more comfortable.
She shared that finding the right eyelash curler was a struggle, as many didn’t match her eye shape. After giving this one a try, she was impressed by how effortlessly it curled her lashes without any discomfort.
Durability is another reason Ji-yeon loves this curler. Having used it for two years, she noted that it remains sturdy and hasn’t broken once. After curling her lashes, she completes her look by applying blusher for a fresh, radiant finish.
Step 8: Blusher

When it comes to blush, Ji-yeon reaches for the PERIPERA Pure Blushed Sunshine Cheek (025 Maple Cream, RM35.60). She loves this shade so much that the center of the pan is already worn down from frequent use. According to her, the warm tone flatters her complexion beautifully, making it a go-to in her routine.
What sets this blush apart is its unique squishy, jelly-like texture. Ji-yeon shared that the moist powder sits smoothly on the skin without flying away, creating a soft, natural flush. She applies it by smiling and tapping it onto the apples of her cheeks.
To enhance her overall look, she also dabs a bit on the tip of her nose to create a more balanced face shape. A light touch on the chin and a soft sweep over the eyelids help bring all the colours of her makeup together.
Step 9: Contour

For shading and contouring, Ji-yeon opts for the rom&nd Better Than Eyes Music (M02 Dry Buckwheat Flower, RM75.62) palette. While it leans slightly whitish and cool-toned, she prefers it over warm-toned contouring products, which she feels make her face look overly warm.
To add natural depth, she uses this grayish palette instead. In fact, she has used it so often that the pan looks a little messy — proof of just how much she loves it!
Ji-yeon’s techniques are pretty simple. Here are her tips:
- Define the jawline: Lightly brush over the chin area for subtle definition
- Shake off excess product: Before moving to the nose, ensure the brush is clean to avoid harsh lines
- Shape the nose naturally: Thinly shade the tip and the sides of the nostrils for a refined look
- Avoid shading the sides of the nose: Over-contouring here can make the T-zone stand out too much
- Enhance the eyes: Softly brush downward in front of the eyes for a natural shadow effect
- Frame the brows: Use the remainder of the product to lightly fill in the eyebrows
- Define the lips: A slight touch on the philtrum and beneath the lips helps create a more sculpted look
By following these steps, Ji-yeon subtly refines her facial structure before moving on to her lip makeup.
Step 10: Lip Makeup

Ji-yeon loves the versatility of the Daiso Tag Multi Contour Stick (Nude Rosy, RM34.43). Whether as a lip liner, a contouring tool, or a subtle wash of reddish hue on the face, this multi-use stick does it all—making it a staple in her routine.
Wanting a softer, more diffused look, Ji-yeon blurs the edges of her lips for a smooth blend. This technique creates a natural, flattering flush of color that enhances her overall makeup. With her lips complete, she moves on to the next step.

Next, using the VINNE Plumping Glow Tint Lip Balm (#10 Bear Mauve), she enhances her natural lip colour while enjoying a subtle plumping effect. This new shade complements her lips perfectly, adding a soft, effortless touch to her look.
While she enjoys hydrating lip products, she dislikes anything overly oily—thankfully, this balm strikes the perfect balance, keeping her lips moisturized without feeling greasy. With its natural and pretty finish (plus a sleek case she adores), it has quickly become one of her go-to lip products.

She finishes off her lip makeup with the espoir Lipstick Nowear Velvet (Toffee, RM47.77), a shade she absolutely loves. Unlike traditional matte lipsticks that can feel dry, this one starts with a velvety texture and becomes more hydrating over time, making it incredibly comfortable to wear.
She especially enjoys layering it over the VINNE Plumping Glow Tint Lip Balm from the previous step, as it blends seamlessly and enhances the overall lip look effortlessly.
Step 11: Eyeshadow & Eyeliner

For the eyes, Ji-yeon reaches for the Etude Play Color Eyes Cool Stage (#Warm Top of Charisma palette, RM174.05), which she finds perfect for those with autumn warm-tone skin. She starts with the shade Back to Basic to create a wide base, ensuring the colors applied on top will pop.
Next, she uses Chunky Boots, applying it in a slightly smaller area than the base shade, including the triangle zone under her eyes. Though it might seem uneven at first, she reassures that blending will come later.
To add more depth, Ji-yeon picks up Shearing Jacket shade, a darker shade, and focuses on a smaller section of the eyelid. Since she prefers a cat-eye effect, she raises the outer tip slightly.
A pro tip she shares: Lifting the eyeshadow at the outer corners creates a lifted effect for the entire face.

For eyeliner, Ji-yeon uses the Daiso Stylish Brush Pen Eyeliner (Light Brown, RM22.54), an affordable yet high-quality find. She recalls it being only 2,000 to 3,000 won, making it a budget-friendly staple in her makeup routine.
The brush tip allows her to control the thickness of the line effortlessly, and the deep brown shade offers long-lasting wear. She shares a tip: instead of filling in the entire waterline, leave some gaps to create a softer, more natural look.
To finish, she redraws any moles that may have been covered by foundation, maintaining a natural appearance.
Step 12: Eye Makeup – Eyebrows & Aegyosal

Ji-yeon then picks up a Daiso eyebrow pencil—a 1,000₩ purchase she made in a hurry but ended up loving. Though she’s lost the exact details of the product, she praises its colour and versatility.
She first uses it to subtly enhance her aegyosal (the puffy area under the eyes) before blending the lines with a brush to soften the effect. This trick, she explains, makes the center of her face appear shorter.
Next, she uses the same brush to gently comb and fill in her eyebrows, making them look naturally defined and polished. To complete the brows, she mixes the shades Shearing Jacket and Chunky Boots from her eyeshadow palette, ensuring everything ties together seamlessly.

To further enhance her eye look, she relies on the Too Cool for School Artclass Frottage Pencil (#9 Sheer Nude, RM49.60). She loves this product so much that her pencil has become stubby from frequent use!
She applies it to the front corners of her eyes and over the shaded aegyosal area to bring back brightness and create contrast. This trick makes her eyes appear bigger and more open.
Step 13: Mascara

Next up: mascara! Ji-yeon swears by the Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume and Curl Mascara EX (RM111.36)—a cult-favourite product known for its long-lasting, smudge-proof formula. She’s been using KISSME mascaras since high school, and for good reason.
This mascara is ideal for those who want bold, eye-catching lashes. It helps her lashes stay curled while adding volume, though it does tend to make them clump together—which she actually loves for a more dramatic effect.
For the lower lashes, she applies just a small amount of mascara to avoid a messy look.
How She Achieve Idol-Style Lashes

Instead of leaving her lashes clumped randomly, Ji-yeon takes tweezers and carefully groups her eyelashes into sections of five. This technique mimics the look of false lashes, adding depth and definition to her eyes. The trick is to do it just enough—not too much, not too little.
Step 14: Highlighter

Jiyeon uses the Ofra Mini Highlighter (Rodeo Drive,RM124), a gold-toned, ultra-glossy highlighter that works beautifully on warm skin tones. She admits she used to be a “highlighter nomad,” constantly searching for the perfect one—until she found this gem.
This highlighter is super pigmented, so a little goes a long way. With just a gentle swipe, it blends effortlessly, creating a luminous glow. For warm or slightly darker skin tones, this shade is perfect for enhancing features without looking ashy!
How She Apply Highlighter for the Best Glow
- Nose Tip: Dab a small amount to create a pearl-like shine on the tip of the nose—this enhances the Bambi-like effect
- Inner Corners of the Eyes: Using a small brush, she applies it to the front corners of her eyes to brighten the area
- Aegyosal: A touch of highlighter here enhances the youthful, plump look
- Brow Bone: Recently, she started highlighting under the brows and found it stunning
- Cheeks: She just lightly pats the highlighter for a soft radiance
Step 15: Finishing Touch

To complete the look, Jiyeon uses the Son &Park Arti Spread Color Balm (01 Sunset, RM27.48), a balm-type blusher and lip tint. She applies it over her blush for an extra touch of radiance. The colour is stunning, so she uses it for both cheeks and lips.
