What Gives Your Eyes a Cat-Like Appearance?

Did you know that puppy eyes and cat eyes have distinct characteristics?

Puppy eyes usually have a gentle and curved top eyelid, giving them a round and smooth appearance.

On the other hand, cat eyes have a more angular shape, with the top eyelid sloping upwards and making a sharp, straight turn.

Moreover, cat eyes have outer corners that are higher than the inner corners, which adds to their unique look. This is quite different from the rounded downturn of puppy eyes!

Step-by-Step Guide to Achieving HaeRin’s Iconic Cat Eyes

Step 1: Blend Your Outer Corners Upwards

Start by applying a neutral base colour on your upper eyelids.

The trick is to seamlessly blend the eyeshadow from the outer edge of your eyes towards the brow bone, giving the impression of a sharper and lifted appearance.

Step 2: Create Winged Eyeliner

Begin at the edge of your pupil and extend your eyeliner straight and upward.

This technique will give your upper eyelid a more angular and less rounded appearance.

For a chic and fierce look, choose a black eyeliner.

Step 3: Extend Inner Corner Downwards

Use a gel liner to elongate your inner corner, giving it a downward extension.

This method will enhance the look of your inner corners, making them appear longer and more defined, similar to the intense gaze of a cat.

Step 4: Create Curved Outer Corner

Apply a touch of reddish-brown eyeshadow to the outer corners of your eyes, creating a curved and rounded angle.

Enhance the look by using a burgundy liner to draw a curved line from the center of your pupil towards the ends of your outer corner.

Finally, blend it out seamlessly with eyeshadow for a flawless finish.

Make sure to apply the eyeshadow up to your aegyo-sal (under-eye puff), keeping it in an upward direction instead of pulling it downwards.

Step 5: Add Highlight and Glitter

For an extra oomph effect, add your preferred highlight and glitter to your inner eye corner, aegyo-sal, and upper eyelid.

Instead of placing the glitters in the middle of your eyelid like usual, position them slightly towards the front to accentuate your defined inner corners even more.

Step 6: Apply Mascara

Finish off by applying mascara to the outer corner of your eyes to make them appear longer.

Give extra attention to the inner corner to accentuate your angular upper eyelid.
