Korean Makeup Artist’s Tips For the Perfect Nose Contour

Tip 1: Apply Foundation in the Crevices

Begin by applying an even foundation coverage in the crevices of your nose to create a perfect canvas before starting your nose contour. This step ensures that the natural shadows around your nose won’t interfere with your contour, giving you a more perfectly contoured look.

Tip 2: Use the Lightest Contour Shade with a Fluffy Brush

Take the lightest shade of contour powder and, using a fluffy brush, apply it in a C-shape along your nose bridge, starting from the inner corners and extending toward your brows.

Lightly brush once along your nose bridge, with a focus on the sides of the tip and on the tip itself.

Tip 3: Use a Denser Brush for Darker Shades

Using a denser brush, blend the two darker shades and apply them just beside your inner corners. Keep the application on the sides of your nose tip, but make it narrower than the actual width of your nose.

Skip contouring the length of your nose bridge to create the illusion of a shorter midsection. You can also add two vertical lines just above your nostrils to give your nose a higher and shorter appearance!

Tip 4: Contour the Nose Tip and Blend

Tip 5: Avoid Highlighting the Nose Tip

If you have a wider nose, highlighting the tip can make it appear even wider and flatter. Instead, opt to highlight above the top of your nose, aligning with the start of your alar crease. This technique will make your nose appear narrower and give it a sharper, more pointed look.

Tip 6: Skip Highlighting the Middle of Your Nose

When highlighting, avoid applying it to the entire length of your nose. Focus on highlighting just the top portion, which creates the illusion of a smaller nose due to the natural shadows in the middle.
