At the beginning of her career, IU used to slim down for performances by following a strict diet, having only an apple for breakfast, two sweet potatoes for lunch, and a protein shake for dinner.

She mentioned that by combining this intense diet with her exercise routine, she could shed up to 4kg in just four days, sparking the popular “IU diet challenge”.

However, this crash diet is not sustainable in the long run and lacks essential nutrients. That’s why she has stressed that she does not recommend these eating habits to anyone!

Thankfully, she eventually sought professional guidance to improve her mental and physical well-being, in order to achieve her desired physique safely.

Now, she regularly enjoys nutritious meals of high quality, chewing her food slowly for better digestion. She also makes it a point to eat after exercising, to refuel her body post-workout!
