A lot of us (including us!) usually purchase colour correctors to hide our under-eye imperfections. Sometimes, we even skip that step and just use concealer (again, guilty as charged).

Lately, we’ve been seeing this cool bronzer hack all over our #fyp. Surprisingly, bronzer can do the trick just like a colour corrector! Many reviewers were skeptical at first, but after testing this bronzer hack out, they found that it actually works well for your under eyes.

Here’s why it works: it’s all about colour theory. Concealers can sometimes make dark circles stand out even more, but bronzer blends in naturally, making everything look smoother and more even. According to @dani, a TikTok influencer, using only concealer can make your eyes appear smaller. But with bronzer, you can add definition and dimension, which helps to slightly open up the eyes.

The warm tones in bronzer can neutralise the bluish or purplish tones under your eyes, similar to how a peach or orange colour corrector works.

By using bronzer, you’re adding a subtle warmth that counteracts the dark circles without the heavy look of concealer. It gives a more natural finish and doesn’t settle into fine lines as much.

Plus, it’s super easy to blend and gives your under-eye area a nice, healthy glow.

Bronzer isn’t just for contouring or adding warmth to your face anymore—it can also be a secret weapon against those pesky under-eye shadows.

So, why bronzer? Unlike concealers, which can sometimes settle into fine lines, look too heavy, or overly brighten our under-eye area, bronzer gives a subtle, natural-looking way to lighten and brighten.

Here’s how to nail this simple but effective bronzer hack:

  • Choose the Right Shade: Opt for a bronzer that is just one or two shades darker than your natural skin tone. Avoid shades that are too orange or too shimmery, as these can draw attention rather than conceal.
  • Blend, Blend, Blend: Using a fluffy brush, gently tap off any excess bronzer before lightly sweeping it in a triangular shape under your eyes. The goal is to softly diffuse the darkness without overloading the area.
  • Go In With Concealer: Allow the bronzer to set for a minute before going in with your concealer. Make sure to choose a concealer shade that matches your skin tone instead of using one that’s overly brightened in shade.
  • Finish with Setting Powder: Lightly dust translucent setting powder over the bronzed areas to set the makeup and prevent creasing.

Remember, less is more when it comes to applying bronzer under your eyes. Build up the coverage gradually until you achieve the desired effect, ensuring a natural and radiant finish.

The great thing about makeup is that there are no strict rules. You can do whatever you want! Try different things and see what works best for you.
