Want your brows to be on fleek all day, every day? While some of us are blessed with naturally well-endowed eyebrows, some – unfortunately – are born with non-existent brows and have no choice but to draw them painstakingly every single day before heading out.
Now, imagine the amount of time you’d be able save if only you can have perfect brows without needing to fill them in.
If this sounds like the best gift you can give to yourself, then eyebrow embroidery salons are here to help. A good eyebrow embroidery allows a professional to design the shape of your brows, which allows you to look like a pro does your brows every day – and who wouldn’t want that?
What is eyebrow embroidery?
Eyebrow embroidery is technically a process that’s similar to tattooing, but it involves implanting pigment beneath the surface layer of your skin with single hair-like strokes using tiny disposable needles. There are many types of eyebrow embroidery, including 2D, 3D Creative and 6D Korean. The higher the level, the more natural your eyebrows will look. And yes, that means the prices are higher too!
Eyebrow embroidery is considered to be semi-permanent, and can last about 12 to 24 months. This is because the pigments are only injected into the skin’s epidermis layer; therefore, they fade naturally over time and stay true to their original colour. However, to prevent the eyebrow embroidery from fading to a light colour, you can always opt to do touch-ups later on to keep your brows looking good.
The difference between brow embroidery and eyebrow tattoo
Although both are quite similar, which involves pigment implantation into the skin, they’re different treatments altogether. When it comes to eyebrow tattoo, it’s permanent as the process involves injecting the pigments into the deeper layers beneath the skin.
Different inks and needles are being used for both processes. Hence, this makes eyebrow embroidery look more natural as compared to eyebrow tattoo. Besides that, overtime, eyebrow embroidery fades more naturally, whereas eyebrow tattoo fades to a greenish-blue tint.
The healing process of brow embroidery
It takes approximately 7 to 14 days for eyebrow embroidery to fully heal and about one month for the colour to fully set in. This is highly dependent on how each individual’s skin react to the procedure.
For the first few days, your brows will look very dark, and there may be some redness and swelling. They will then start to dry up, and scabs will begin to form. What this means is that you should choose to go for your first appointment on a day you know you won’t have any huge events happening. You preferably don’t need to head out for important appointments in the next few days too.
Avoid peeling off the scabs and let them fall off naturally. Once the scabs fall off, the colour of your brows will start to look slightly lighter.
Don’t freak out if you see an uneven colour of your brows! This is completely normal because of the uneven healing process. Most salon provide a touch up session a few weeks after the first session to fill up the gaps.
